Custom iOS Property Inspection & Reporting App Development

Plan an iPhone and iPad inspection workflow that connects property checklists, defect photos, room notes, review and report delivery. Define the first release around your inspectors, customers, report requirements and existing systems.

This is a custom development service description, not a claim that the modules below have shipped together in a client product. Features, device support and delivery scope are agreed for each project.

Scope the right modules

One property record, from field capture to review

AppCodie can scope these capabilities as parts of a custom inspection product. The exact workflow depends on your inspection standard, users, report format and integration needs.

Inspection checklists

Organize checks by room, building area or assignment type, with required questions and clear completion states defined for your workflow.

Defect photos & annotations

Capture evidence with notes, labels and markup linked to the relevant room or observation, subject to the agreed capture and review rules.

Offline capture & syncing

Where offline work is in scope, save approved draft data locally, queue uploads and show synchronization status when connectivity returns.

Branded PDF reports

Plan report sections, branding, photos and review states around your supplied template and the people who prepare or receive the report.

Admin & reviewer dashboard

Connect assignments, inspection progress, evidence review and report status in a web workspace scoped to your team's permissions.

Optional LiDAR & RoomPlan

For supported LiDAR-equipped Apple devices, RoomPlan scanning can be evaluated as an optional room-capture input with review and correction steps.

A room scan or image is evidence for a professional workflow; it does not replace an inspector's judgment, applicable standards or a review of measurement quality. Apple RoomPlan support depends on device hardware and capture conditions.

Inspection-to-report workflow

Keep field evidence connected to the final report

Use this as a planning sequence. It describes a possible product workflow, not a recorded client implementation.

Assign the inspection

Set up the property, visit and inspection template so the inspector knows the scope and required evidence.

Capture rooms & defects

Complete room checklists, attach photos and annotations, and record notes against the right observation.

Sync & review

Upload queued work when available, show what has synced, and route incomplete or changed records for review.

Prepare the report

Assemble the approved findings and evidence into the agreed branded PDF and make its status clear to the team.

Property inspection app development FAQs

How much does a property inspection app cost, and how long does it take?

Cost and timeline depend on the inspection workflows, device requirements, report templates, integrations, admin features and testing scope. AppCodie provides a custom quote after reviewing those requirements; no starting price or fixed timeline is published for this service.

Which iPhone and iPad devices can support property scanning?

Photo-based inspections can be scoped for the target iOS devices agreed for the project. Apple RoomPlan room capture requires a LiDAR-equipped iPhone or iPad Pro that reports RoomPlan support; the app should check device support and define its minimum OS and hardware versions before release. Read Apple RoomPlan documentation ↗

Can inspectors work offline?

Offline capture can be included when the project defines what data is stored on-device, how queued uploads work, how sync status is shown and how conflicts are handled. The offline scope is agreed before development.

When should we use LiDAR instead of photos?

Photos document visual conditions and defects. LiDAR and RoomPlan can provide structured room geometry on supported devices, but captured geometry still needs review and may need correction. They serve different purposes and can be combined when the inspection workflow requires both.

Can the PDF report use our branding and format?

Report branding, section order, photo placement, required fields and approval steps can be scoped around a template your team supplies. The report example and export requirements should be reviewed before the estimate.

Who owns the source code, and what maintenance is included?

Source handover, account ownership, maintenance and ongoing support are agreed in the project scope and contract. AppCodie does not state a universal ownership or support policy for every engagement.
